Rainy Season Refresh: How to Eat Healthy in Monsoon

Monsoons do come with relief but also risk of many diseases and allergies. There is no need to panic just have to be very careful about making your food choices.

HOW TO EAT HEALTHY:

  • Bounce on to fruits, eat a lot of fruits which will make you feel hydrated as you don’t often feel thirsty during rains.
  • Brown rice and oats are good food for your stomach during rains
  • Avoid eating outside completely.
  • The intake of dairy products should not be high as they are easily affected by germs.
  • Drink boiled water.
  • People who has skin allergies should not eat a lot of spicy foods.
  • Go for green leafy vegetables
  • Avoid milk and have curd.
  • Avoid eating lots of mangoes as they can cause face and skin problems.
  • Avoid oily foods.
  • Drink a lot of herbal teas, as they are high in anti-oxidants.
  • Eat steamed salad instead of raw salad.
  • Always binge on nutritious food

  4. For people who consume alcohol, opt for wine as it will boost your immunity and prevents against infection.
  5. In case of skin allergies, add neem leaves to bathing water.

  1. You'll need: 2 teaspoons coconut oil 1 teaspoon turmeric (powdered, not fresh root, and not just curcumin) 1 pinch of freshly crushed black pepper Healthy fats help curcumin bypass the liver and enter the bloodstream via the lymphatic system.
  2. To activate turmeric, it needs to be warm but not overheated, and black pepper boosts curcumin absorption.
  3. Here's how: In a small cup (glass preferred), mix all ingredients well. Place this cup in a larger bowl and add hot water to the larger bowl.
  4. Stir for 3 minutes and consume immediately while warm. I usually have this on an empty stomach.
